During COP27, UN Live wanted to bring voices rarely heard at global climate gatherings into the conversation. The idea? Set up live portals connecting people on the frontlines of climate change directly with policymakers at COP headquarters.
The Museum for the United Nations – UN Live is reimagining what a museum can be. Through culture, dialogue and digital media, it makes global challenges more relevant and actionable in people’s everyday lives.
For COP27, they set up live portals where indigenous communities, climate activists, young people, artists and others often left out of climate discussions could meet, share perspectives and engage directly with politicians and policymakers.
Supported by the IKEA Foundation, we took on a twofold role: telling the stories of these encounters on social media and setting up a live portal in our Copenhagen studio to connect people across borders. Through shareable content, we captured the human moments behind the global climate debate, bringing new voices and perspectives into the conversation and showing how human connection can help build common ground.
